The balmy, misty morning of Sunday 1st November 2020 set the backdrop for Cosmopolis first-ever Walking Competition for Senior Citizens at Cosmopolis. The event was organized by The Club and Sports Committee. At dawn, amid the lush greenery and abundant flowers of Cosmopolis, a few dozen of the societys most avid walkers both men and women, gathered for the kick off at the Tennis Court. The 1.5 km long challenge comprised 3 circuits of the Cosmopolis walking track. The enthusiastic senior walkers kept up a sprightly pace and friendly banter. The event came to a jubilant close with the presentation of Decathlon-sponsored prizes to the winners. However the real triumph was the camaraderie & cheery spirit of competition among the senior neighbours!

"Play as your life depends on it" - children live by this adage. On the morning of 8th Nov 2020, we had the opportunity to witness this in action as over 50 children between the age group of 4-17 years of age participated in a 70 metres sprint sports event at the Cosmopolis grounds.

The event was the first of its kind and saw unprecedented participation from the community members. The passion and fervour demonstrated by the young participants, organizers, volunteers and those in the audience was indicative of this event being a possible trend-setter!

A surprise awaited in the form of a call for the women present, to participate in a 70 meter race, and living up to the spirit of sports, over 14 young mothers participated and made the event a complete success.
