This hillock is a popular picnic spot and its proximity to Khurda Fort. Barunei Hill is also home to a shrine dedicated to Goddess Barunei. Legend has it that king Ramachandra Dev had built the temple for the goddess. A stream called Swarna Ganga flows down the hill and its water is said to have many medicinal properties. The hill also makes for a nice trekking spot and local lore says the Pandavas had stayed in the caves in these hills. Located 22 kms from Cosmopolis.
